Discontinuing Route 13: Ten Mile Point/UVic

BC Transit continuously assesses its routes to better align service with demand and improve service reliability. After careful evaluation, it has been decided to discontinue Route 13 Ten Mile Point/UVic for the following reasons:

  • Route 13 has low ridership and has not met our performance standards for an extended period.
  • 85% of route 13 overlaps with Route 11 Tillicum Centre/UVic, which already serves the area, apart from the loop around Arbutus Road at Ten Mile Point.
  • On the remaining 15% of the route within the 10 Mile Point neighbourhood, there is an average of only three passengers per day.

As a result of the discontinuation of route 13 Ten Mile Point/UVic, four bus stops in Ten Mile Point along Arbutus Road will be closed as of September 4th, 2024:

  • Arbutus at Arbutus.
  • Arbutus at Juan De Fuca.
  • Arbutus 2800 Block.
  • Arbutus at Juan De Fuca.

BC Transit is committed to improving our services and making the most out of our resources to serve riders better. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility with these changes.
