North of Fraser Transit Service

What is This Project About?

BC Transit and the Fraser Valley Regional District are seeking public feedback on a new bus route that will travel on Highway 7 between Mission and Agassiz. This new service will connect people along the Highway 7 corridor to education, recreation and employment opportunities, and will provide an alternative to vehicle travel.

The aim is to launch this new service in January 2026, pending Provincial funding availability.

We want to hear your feedback on these proposed changes!

How Did We Get Here?

This project began with a feasibility study that looked at options for transit service along the Highway 7 corridor. This feasibility study included reviewing employment and population data, travel patterns and other important information, and summarized different high level options for this future service. You can read the feasibility study by clicking the link in the "Documents" section on the righthand side of this page.

We are now in phase two of this work, which involves public engagement to help determine what the bus schedule will be. Service will operate at an introductory level and will grow over time. The trip times and service days will be determined based on what we hear from you during engagement.

We Want to Hear from You!

Your input is essential as we embark on the next phase of this planning work. We are seeking your feedback on the times and days of the week that you would find this service most useful.

Please take a moment to participate by clicking the "Take Survey" button below. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Paper surveys are also available at the Mission Leisure Centre, Kent Community Recreation and Cultural Centre, Kent Municipal Hall, Welton Common, Leq’á:mel First Nation and the Harrison Hot Springs Village Office.

As you fill out the survey, please note that there are parts of Highway 7 that are narrow and winding, and are not currently safe for the bus to stop. BC Transit and the Fraser Valley Regional District will continue to work with local stakeholders and the Ministry of Transportation and Transit to determine where future stops may be added.

Open houses will be held at the following dates and locations:

  • Monday, May 5, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Deroche Community Hall
  • Tuesday, May 6, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Harrison Mills Community Hall
  • Wednesday, May 7, 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Kent Community Recreation and Cultural Centre
