Victoria Regional Transit Plan

The Victoria Regional Transit Plan is currently being finalized, with the completed plan to be made available upon Victoria Regional Transit Commission approval in Fall 2026.

Thank you for your input!

Between Fall 2025 and Summer 2026, BC Transit sought input into the long-term goals and network design priorities for the Victoria Regional Transit Plan. The plan is being developed with input from the Capital Regional District (CRD) and other area partners to ensure alignment in regional transportation planning.

The Victoria Regional Transit Plan will help shape how the Victoria Regional Transit System will change and develop between now and 2050! This plan will be the foundation used for service design as BC Transit continues to roll out RapidBus and invest in service to meet the needs of our growing community.

  • Engagement with First Nations

  • BC Transit data on where people ride the bus, how full buses are, where buses are getting stuck in traffic, and more

  • Official community plans, Provincial mandates and policies, and other documents that outline how the region plans to evolve

  • Transit system best practices

  • Opportunities to use new technologies, like electric buses

  • Funding and operational constraints
