I LOVE the bus tracker, now if you could add wifi and USB chargers underneath the seats, that would be honestly the best. I’ve had my phone die so much on the bus and with someone that doesn’t have data, it be nice to be able to access it on the bus. Buses in Europe have it, I’m sure it could be an easy thing to do.

A bus route to/from Victoria-Langford via Esquimalt would connect the communities by shorter runs. #46 is great for Esquimalt <->Langford, needs more runs and add weekend runs.

What could be improved?
about 2 years agoCLOSED: This ideas has concluded.tlangeabout 2 years agoCommuter rail
The E&N train that Via Rail used to operate was a joke, but with density on the rise in Westshore, we need to build up that corridor into a multimodal transit network: electrified light rail (or regional commuter rail going north to Duncan) with two sets of rail tracks offering bidirectional frequent service at speeds that outmatch the highway commute, placed next to a paved bike path offering commuters and community members choice in how they get around.

Consider lowering the age for a senior's pass/ticket. Many of us are retiring at 60 and on fixed incomes.

Should use 60 ft buses with doors on both sides on bus rapid transit and with a different livery compared to regular fleet buses. The buses should standout compared to the regular fleet. Follow TransLink lead but introduce bus lanes that could go anywhere on street because the buses have doors on both sides.

The routing for 50 should stay the same and RapidBus should be used to limit stop routing. Both routes should stay at Langford Exchange to service the maximum amount of transfer to local West Shore routes because non easy transfer could reduce public transit use.

Reimplement the 76 that goes from the UVic bus exchange to Swartz Bay on Mondays/Fridays.
