  • There are an increasing number of young people (starting at age 12) taking transit to Dr.Knox Middle School for french immersion. While we have a middle school being built that will include french there are still kids having to go into town. Please ensure there are buses connecting at UBCO that will get them there in time for school without them having to take the bus at 7am. Right now it's terrible. I'm sure it's even worse for the Senior High kids taking the bus all the way to KSS.

    Hi Leigh-Ann,

Thank you for your comments in regards to providing more options for students accessing Dr. Knox Middle School. With the first bell being at 8:40am, students do have to leave very early and arrive early for their first class with the current schedule. The pandemic has resulted in a reduced level of service across Kelowna, including service on route 6 Glenmore. Historically, we would have a trip arrive near Dr. Knox Middle School at 8:32am.  I will ensure that this feedback is incorporated as part of service planning for Fall 2021.

    Sincerely,

    Bronson Bullivant, BC Transit

  • Can there be a parking area close to a bus stop? Neither shopping centers in Lake Country appreciate parking your car there so you can access the bus to UBC, Vernon or Kelowna

    Hi Diane,

Thank you for your question. Currently Lake Country provides a Park and Ride at Beasley Park, located at Woodsdale Road and Reiswig Road. We will be sure to capture your feedback for more parking options near bus stops as part of the Local Area Transit Plan.

    Sincerely,

  • Bus route circling Jim Bailey road

Jules asked over 3 years ago

    Hi Jules,

Thanks for your feedback in regards to future transit service in Lake Country. Providing service to Jim Bailey road has been identified as a long-term priority for transit service in the area in the survey. I will capture your interest in providing a route to this area in the Local Area Transit Plan.

    Sincerely,

    Bronson Bullivant, BC Transit
