BC Transit, in partnership with the City of Merritt, is developing a strategic plan for the future of the Merritt Transit system. This Plan will identify transit service improvements and infrastructure improvements over the next five years.
Engagement Status and Summary Report: The public survey is now closed. The Engagement Summary Report is found in the Documents tab of this web page.
Engagement Details: We reached out for feedback from the public to find out what is working and what can be improved via a survey available November 6th - December 6th, 2023. For the purposes of the survey, we asked you about Merritt Transit’s current modified schedule rather than the schedule that existed before the 2021 flood. The current modified schedule and additional information on the Merritt Transit system can now be found in the Documents tab of this website. Those who preferred to fill out a paper copy of this survey were able to pick one up and drop it off at the Merritt Transit office (2185 Voght St).
Merritt Transit Information: Merritt Transit provides service to major destinations and residential areas in Merritt and Lower Nicola. Decisions on fares, routes and service levels are made by Merritt City Council based on information and planning provided by BC Transit. Buses are operated by Nicola Valley Transportation Society. The service is funded through a legislated cost-sharing formula between the municipality and the province.
