BC Transit and the Regional District of Nanaimo invite you to provide feedback on potential fare changes as a part of the fare review process. As a part of this process, the Regional District of Nanaimo is looking for feedback from the public to aid in establishing fares that balance affordability, ridership growth, and cost recovery. The Regional District of Nanaimo has identified accessibility as a priority for the region, and a significant level of expansion is necessary to meet this priority. As transit fares contribute to maintaining and enhancing transit in the region, the Regional District of Nanaimo is assessing whether the existing fares meet the current needs or should be increased or decreased to better serve the community.
This fare review survey will look to gather feedback on potential fare changes and their impact on transit ridership. This will cover fixed route (conventional) Regional District of Nanaimo transit fares as well as Route 70 NCX Nanaimo – Cowichan Express fares. A separate section at the end of the survey will also look to gather feedback on handyDART (custom) fares.
