It would seem Peninsula has great potential for light rail. Is there a long term plan? Are Rights of Way along existing highway being considered?

Thank you for your questions.
Currently, the long term plan for the region is the Victoria Region Transit Future Plan which identified the need for a Rapid Transit Network. RapidBus service provides sufficient capacity and costs less than Light Rail Transit. RapidBus is also considered a pre-cursor to rail-based transit.
The RapidBus Implementation Strategy includes a variety of potential street treatments, including dedicated bus lanes. As part of implementing a Peninsula RapidBus line, we will continue to identify and implement infrastructure improvements on Highway 17.
Will there be a fast bus to Langford frequently in this plan?.

Thank you for your question. This plan focuses on the Peninsula area, however RapidBus between downtown Victoria and the Westshore is being planned, and the goal is to implement this service within the next 3 years.
