BC Transit, in partnership with the Town of Sidney, is planning a new Transit Hub that will improve transit service in Sidney and across the Saanich Peninsula. Over the long-term the Sidney Transit Hub will also be a pivotal piece of infrastructure to help create an efficient Peninsula RapidBus line that will facilitate easy and convenient transfers and increased route connections to help people get around the Victoria Regional Transit System. With growing demand for transit, we need a better space to keep things running efficiently and on time. Once the design has been finalized and funding is secured, the Transit Hub will make buses easier to access, help us offer more frequent service, and create a more comfortable ridership experience so that everyone can get where they need to go faster. The illustration below shows the initial concept for the Transit Hub at the intersection of Seventh Street and Bevan Avenue. About 1,500 people are expected to use the Transit Hub each day.
