Victoria Airport Service Options

We need your input!

BC Transit is exploring improved service opportunities to the Victoria International Airport (YYJ). BC Transit most recently presented service options to local decision-makers in Fall 2024, outlining improvement opportunities and associated trade-offs.

As part of the 2025 Victoria Regional Transit Plan (VRTP) engagement process, members of the public expressed strong interest in improved transit connections to the YYJ.

Staff have developed a network optimization option that could enable direct routing between Downtown Victoria and YYJ without the need to transfer. This option has trade-offs, and BC Transit is requesting public feedback on service options to best meet the needs of our existing, future, and prospective users.

Feedback and Considerations

Managing and altering the transit network involves many stakeholders and considerations. For this work, BC Transit is considering:

  • Your feedback, through this engagement process

  • BC Transit data on where people ride the bus, how full buses are, where buses are getting stuck in traffic, and more

  • Existing and prospective future demand at key regional destinations

  • Official community plans, Provincial mandates and policies, and other documents that outline how the region plans to evolve

  • Transit system planning best practices

  • Funding and operational constraints

Engagement Opportunities
