The Victoria Regional Transit Commission invites you to review and provide feedback on proposed fare options coming to the Victoria Regional Transit System in 2024 and 2025.
Why Is a Fare Change Being Proposed?
The cost of operating Transit has increased, and with an ever-growing population, demand for service continues to grow. The Victoria Regional Transit System last had fares reviewed in 2013, with an increase to the Adult monthly pass fare and a decrease to the Concession (Youth and Senior) pass as an outcome of the fare review. The last increase to the Cash Fare in the Victoria region went into effect over a decade ago, in 2010. The Victoria Regional Transit Commission is looking to balance funding sources to maintain and improve transit service in the Victoria Regional Transit System.
In support of that objective, four potential fare options have been developed that balance affordability and a need to increase revenues to improve and maintain transit service. The Commission is seeking your input and will review feedback at a forthcoming Commission meeting.
